When people comment I don't draw from my imagination I'm not at all offended. They probably don't realize I consider it a compliment. Going to college I started out in commercial art so I could make a living doing what I loved. Commercial art later grew to be known as graphic design. When I graduated with my BA degree my emphasis was in illustration.
So when you see my drawings and paintings - that realism is entirely on purpose. You could even say it was by design.
