The drawing in my introduction to my coloring book of Timberline. It's starting to come together. It won't be long now.

Dari Delish
Some of the simplest looking buildings are buggery hard to draw. Best guess is the building is vintage 1950-something. The classic architectural angles from that time are challenging to say the least. Working from across the street I couldn't make out how the picnic tables were situation well enough to draw them correctly so I decided to walk over to get a closer look. Part of the difficulty is the hipped paint from many years of use and how the difference skewed what I saw from a distance.

While waiting for breakfast
It's always fun to have brunch on the water so we went down to Mark's on the Channel (Scappoose, OR). One of the fun things to enjoy while waiting for our food to arrive is the assortment of boats moored nearby. There wasn't much time to work on it so it was a quick sketch forcing me to simplify.

Urban sketching in St Helen's - part 4
With the dark clouds threatening above we opted to take our project inside Bertuccis, the local candy, coffee and ice cream shop. Tried out the Noodler ink pen I bought months ago. I'm having some issues with the ink delivery that I'll have to figure out before the next drawing. Still I managed to catch the essence of the store. I have to say I continue to be amazed at how no one is even remotely curious what I am doing while I'm drawing on location.
